2011 Street Scenes ADULT Volunteer Opportunities Street Scenes Hosts the Olympics!
Thursday, February 10 – Student Night Friday & Saturday, February 11 & 12 – Adults Only
Street Scenes is Carmel Catholic High School’s largest annual fundraiser. For one weekend a year, the entire school is transformed into a themed party with live bands, a casino, food and drink from popular area restaurants, comedy clubs and the famous Student Show in the Carmel Catholic auditorium. The student show is professionally produced and choreographed, presenting four shows per night. For the past 37 years, thousands of volunteers have been directly responsible for the success of Street Scenes. Carmel Catholic High School feels deeply indebted to the hundreds of Street Scenes volunteers—the unsung heroes—who work throughout the year to execute a community-wide event on the scale of Street Scenes. Some volunteers have put in over 30 years of service! To keep Street Scenes going strong, we need your help. Some jobs require only a few hours of time either before or during the event in February and other jobs require more time. We are currently looking for help in the following areas:
Set Up and Prep
Ad Book: Counting, data entry, computer paste-up, ad book distro prep Finance: Ticket sales for the event Room Chair: Coordinate the operation of a room. You will receive a lot of support and assistance in putting the room together. Includes room set up and tear down. Set Up Prior to the Event: Electric and sound; Carpentry, trailer unloading; Decorating during the week of the event; Sign design and distribution
Take Down: Loading equipment, packing, taking decorations down
Variety: Brochure and guide for the evening, design and coordination Street Scenes Weekend
Beverages: Running beverages to various rooms as needed
Casino: Dealers and servers Coat Room: Take patrons coats and return them Food Prep: Receive food from vendors, maintain “supply” and distribute to rooms as needed Concessions: Work at a food station, selling food to patrons, wait staff and servers Inside Ops: Information booths, hall clean up and crowd control Outside Ops: Parking lot attendants Tickets: Selling food and drink tickets Any time you can provide is greatly appreciated.
